So its already been a while and I’ve just realized that all I have to talk about is food… I was terribly sick today, I HATE IT!  Around 6 pm I woke up from a very short lived nap feeling hungry and anxious to go to church. needless to say but I’m going to say it… we were nearly 30 minutes late for the service tonight! whoops!! Glad that we went though…

Soooo for the namesake of this post I will now share with you some pictures of the “amish friendship bread” that we’ve been making the past couple months. My neighbors loooove it!  and it smells oh soooo good! what bread doesnt? share with us?

ok so here are some pics of the process beginning with getting the ingredients together and moving on through laurel helping, what munchkins do when big girls are cooking, and then finally the finished product. as you can see we cut into it and began eating before I could even get a picture… veeerry interesting… I KNOW!! enjoy!

john 6:35   and HE said unto them, ” I am the bread of life; he that cometh to ME shall never hunger, and he that believeth on ME shall never thirst.”

  mmmm good!

Sooo I’m obviously not too good at this blog life already!! I totally blanked and didnt take ANY pictures of our beautiful steak and alfredo dinner…. mmm it was sooooo good! Drew came home early tonight, hungry! I was surprised to hear him coming in while I was getting my  run in on the treadmill. My new record by the way: 6.367 miles!!! wooohooo! I’m feeling really good, I stretched for about 20 minutes after. haha!

So I missed capturing the lovely dinner buuuut I grabbed a quick shot of my treat afterwards. I was too late to get a picture of Laurel’s: the prettiest neopolatin and bananna sundae covered in sprinkles and cool whip and topped with one of our newest tasty treats half-homemade hot fudge sauce. YOU HAVE to try this out.

I took a fun sized plain Hershey bar and put it into a microwabable dish and then covered it in heavy whipping cream. I microwaved it for 10 or 15 seconds until the cream started bubbling, then I stirred it and microwaved it for another 8 to 10 seconds. mmmm after it sits for a few seconds the chocolate starts to get a lil thicker juuuust perfect for topping sundaes!!!!! below is a picture of the laaaast drop of Laurel’s sundae and after that is what I did with my Hersheys bar.

the last drop

my treat

So who doesnt know how to make one of these classic treats? I’ll tell you just in case!

I used 4 honey maid graham squares (made just for smores), 1 fun sized Hersheys bars 2 sections per smore and 1 large marshmallow for each smore. I had the oven heated to 350 degrees. Lay the graham squares spaced apart on a cookie sheet. put 1 marshmallow each on 2 squares. on the other 2 squares add the hersheys chocolate 2 sections for each square. warm the treats for a few minutes keep your eye on them the mallows will begin to soften and the chocolate will melt. If you dont warm them long enough the marshmallows will not be soft enough to squish. They HAVE to squish. Okay! Take them out and mash them together. THIS WILL BE VERY MESSY!!! You just might need some milk too! I did!

k bye!

oh i almost forgot… as a p.s.   during dinner and after dinner treats we discussed what we were thankful for during our day passed… Laurel was thankful for her yummy dinner, Drew was thankful that our bodies were designed so wonderfully that we are able to overcome ailments that afflict us. I was thankful that Drew came home early. What a blessing!!
